When done correctly, paint correction can actually improve the look of your vehicle's paint better than any other form of detailing available.

The number two is in a black circle on a white background.

MYTH 2: All paint corrections are permanent

While a good paint correction can last, it will eventually fade or become dull over time due to exposure to the elements. Proper maintenance is required in order to preserve its appearance and longevity.

The number three is in a black circle on a white background.

MYTH 3: Paint correction fixes any body damage

Paint correction cannot correct any visible surface imperfections, such as dents, scratches, and chips. However, it can dramatically reduce the appearance or visibility of these imperfections, allowing them to blend in more with the rest of the paint job.

The number four is in a black circle on a white background.

MYTH 4: Brand new cars don’t need paint correction

While manufacturers do put their best effort into producing a perfect finish on the vehicles they produce, this doesn't always mean that there won't be any imperfections in the paintwork of a brand new car. In fact, all modern production cars have some level of imperfection in their factory paint job due to cost-saving measures during the production process and/or shipping damage from transportation.

Achieve Flawless Finish On Your Vehicle With SW Detailing's Paint Correction Process!

The paint correction process at SW Detailing begins with a two-bucket hand wash to ensure the exterior of your vehicle is clean. This will help loosen and break down any dirt and debris on the outside of your vehicle. After the two-bucket hand wash, we use a clay bar to remove any of the contaminants that may be stuck on your vehicle's paint. This helps eliminate any rough surface texture and leaves your car with an incredibly smooth finish.

We then move on to the paint decontamination process. This includes using a special chemical-free solution to remove any stubborn stains or oxidation that may have built up over time. After this has been completed, we use a polisher and a series of compounds and pads to carefully remove any swirls and other blemishes from your vehicle’s paint job. This will leave you with an immaculate finish that looks better than ever!

After the paint correction process is complete, it is highly recommended to seal the finish with a protective coating. SW Detailing offers our very own 6-month paint sealant that provides superior protection against elements. This ensures your car's paint will look brand new for years to come! It is recommended to also add a ceramic coating which has hydrophobic properties that cause water droplets to bead up on contact, making washing your vehicle even easier than before.  With this advanced level of protection, you can be sure you'll have a flawless finish for many miles down the road.

FAQs about Paint Correction

  • What is paint correction?

Paint correction is a process of restoring a vehicle’s paintwork to its original condition. It removes light scratches, swirl marks, oxidation, water spots, bug residue, marring, and other blemishes from the vehicle’s exterior surface.

  • How long does it take to complete paint correction?

The amount of time it takes to complete a paint correction job depends on many factors, such as the size of the vehicle, the number of defects that need to be corrected, as well as the type of product and tools used.

  • What is the difference between paint correction and waxing?

Waxing can protect your vehicle’s paintwork, but it won’t remove any blemishes. Paint correction, on the other hand, uses techniques to help restore a car's shine by removing imperfections from the surface of the paint. Waxing can be done after paint correction has been completed in order to further protect and enhance its shine.

  • How long will the paint correction last?

Proper maintenance such as regular washing and waxing can help extend the life of your paint correction. In general, you can expect your paint correction to last 2-3 years, with proper maintenance. It is strongly recommended to include a ceramic coating in addition to paint correction. This will ensure maximum protection and extend the life of your paint correction.
